John + Lori | Barrington, IL Portrait Photography

Just walking into their house, I knew I’d connect right away with John and Lori. They are collectors of art and have a colorful house displaying a wonderful collection of original paintings and photography. I could have discussed our mutual appreciation for paintings and fine art photography in their living room for hours. However, after learning how they met each other, developed a long distance relationship and planned a destination wedding in Europe, we set off around their neighborhood for some relaxed, fun portraits. John’s often irreverent humor makes Lori laugh at every turn and it’s so apparent, here, in their photo session. It’s truly a pleasure to document such a true romance.

Heather + Rich’s Wedding Day Details | Strawberry Creek Wedding Photography

No detail was left unplanned for Heather and Rich’s Fall themed wedding.  All the details came together so smoothly in just a couple months thanks to Heather’s event planning skills and Rich’s willingness to be part of all the planning. The crisp, sunny fall day was a great backdrop to a personal and emotional ceremony. All the guests reconvened in the evening at the beautiful, new Club at Strawberry Creek for a warm and cozy reception, complete with crackling fire. Check out some of our favorite details and moments from the day.Wendy captured a beautiful moment of pure emotion while Heather and her Dad waited in anticipation to walk down the aisle to meet her Groom.The November Fall colors were emphasized by incredible handmade details including a wonderfully colorful candy buffet by Karolina Warren of Weddings by Karolina; it was really a hit at the party. We loved Heather’s elegant hair piece she switched out her veil for, for the evening’s festivities.My favorite shot of the day was a dramatic capture of a tender moment that came at the end of Heather and Rich’s first dance. Moments later, the dance floor came alive with family and friends and the party really got moving.

Heather + Rich’s Wedding Portraits | Deerfield Wedding Photography

When two individual people that give so much of themselves to the people around them find one another, fall in love and get married, you know it’s going to be an emotional day. Heather has devoted her career to serving students at Trinity International University. Rich is attending a graduate nursing program, preparing to serve people in need. They met each other while serving a strong church community that came together to surround and support them at their beautiful Fall wedding. Check out their awesome wedding portraits and their beautiful wedding party, it was so apparent throughout the day that each member has a special bond with the Bride and Groom.

Tariq + Mona + Amina + Yasmeen + Rayanne

The University of Michigan Law school is a special place for Tariq and Mona, they started their life together here early on in their careers. “You know, Mona and I are celebrating 12 years of marriage in a couple of weeks, I would love to surprise her with photos. It would be meaningful to have good family portraits together and with out daughters,” He told me over lunch. It was decided, the law quad was a fitting backdrop for portraits celebrating their life together with their three beautiful daughters.

We share in common our love for the outdoors and exploring the great state of Michigan. Tariq loves to take his family on nature walks so we headed over to the Arboretum on campus to catch some of the Fall color, great family memories were captured. There was plenty of spontaneous twirling.I have a feeling Rayanne steels the show in this household, her cuteness is inescapable. I love this moment between Mom and daughter.I love Amina’s eyes as she clings to her Dad on a walk through the Arboretum. Thanks Tariq and Mona! Carolyn + Greg + Haiden | Family Photography in Chicago

I’ve always been so curious what it’s like for parents to raise children in the city. Carolyn and Greg are my city-dwelling-parent-heros. They’re raising the coolest kid and making it work in a neighborhood full of activity. Haiden loves baseball, superheros, comic books, trains and Wilco. (Coincidentally, so does his Daddy. They really get along that way.)

After capturing some great family shots in their loft, we headed out for their favorite park to play and catch the leaves starting to change color. Haiden loves his trains so much he could barely let go of them all afternoon.Dear Haiden,

I hope you stumble upon these pictures in a shoebox one day and are reminded how much your Mommy and Daddy adore you, the joy you bring them and the fun you have as a family. These photos prove it and I’m so happy to have been there to capture a piece of it!
