Rachel + Manoah | Chicago Wedding Photography

Within 30 minutes of meeting him, Manoah mentioned kids to me three times and I could tell he was excited about starting his life with Rachel and building a family with her. They first met on a mission trip to Mexico and slowly built their friendship until they realized there was something more, much more. It seemed fitting that their faith brought them together and their faith is what their relationship is built on. Manoah proposed to Rachel at Buckingham fountain in Chicago which was a natural location for us to start off their engagement photo session. We had a wonderful afternoon exploring Grant park and getting to know each other. Rachel and Manoah, it was great getting to know you two as a couple, I’m so excited to photograph your Winter wedding!

Lisa + Wayne Engagement Photos at Comerica Park in Detroit

On a Summer evening at the ballpark, Wayne’s best friend invited him to join a group of friends to catch a game. As fate would have it, Lisa joined the group with her best friend and when they all came together at the Big Cat Court, Wayne and Lisa met for the first time. Not only did they meet at Comerica Park, but when the time was right, Wayne proposed to Lisa at the very spot they met. For their engagement photos, it had to be arranged to get full access to the park to capture their love where it all happened. We had an amazing afternoon exploring the outfield, the dugout and the stands and Lisa and Wayne’s love for each other.

I’m thankful for another great photo collaboration with Mike Peraino.

Melissia + Patrick at Columbia Yacht Club | Chicago Wedding Photography

Who’s ready for some romance on the water? Melissia and Patrick met on the water; throughout their relationship they spent their Summer’s hanging out on Patrick’s boat on Lake Michigan, practically building their entire relationship with with the Chicago skyline as their backdrop. The Columbia Yacht Club was the perfect venue to host their family and friends for an incredible wedding ceremony. Adding to the picture perfect day was the festive environment surrounding the yacht club with Lallapalooza bumping in the background as the night finished with a fireworks display off of Navy Pier. Melissia and Patrick were surrounded by their super fun family and friends for a wonderful celebration that fit their relationship perfectly.

Many thanks to Mike Peraino for collaborating with me on this wedding.

Elyse + James | Chicago Engagement Photography

Do you believe in love at first sight? Elyse and James met while standing up in a wedding for mutual friends. Their relationship took off and they never considered looking back. Elyse is passionate and fun and James is the heart of the relationship. Being the romantic that he is, James had a perfect proposal planned; he packed a special picnic and they set out on kayaks, stopping at the perfect spot for him to pop the question and celebrate with a bottle of wine and a meal. After spending one evening with them I could tell that James was head over heals for Elyse and he never stopped making her laugh all evening long. Their love is contagious and it’s revealed in their beautiful, bare-footed engagement session. I dare you to keep from smiling at Elyse and James’ photos.

Kristy + Chris | Detroit Wedding Photography

I’m showing off a little “Detroit Love” on the blog today. Kristy and Chris are engaged after 5 years together and celebrated with a photo session in Detroit near Chris’ office, an active part of the city bustling with people. Everything downtown seemed new and alive; I felt like a tourist discovering a city I call my hometown. Our session was made more fun when we discovered the Detroit Electronic Music Festival taking place a few blocks away adding tons of colorful people to the backdrop. I had to capture some of that magic and sure enough, two ladies dressed for success in “boots with tha furrr”passed by at just the right time. Check out Kristy and Chris’ passionate, fun photos in the mean streets of of “The Dirty D.”Many thanks to Mike Peraino for all his assistance and help making this shoot possible.
