Elyse + James | Libertyville Wedding Photography

The nerves were building all morning long. They didn’t plan to see each other before she walked down the aisle, but she offered to have him come into the room beforehand if he needed it. But, James kept it together the whole day until the moment each of the guys walked down the aisle toward him and spontaneously hugged him before they took their spot. That got him and tears poured from his eyes; he was surrounded by some special guys. He cleared his eyes just in time for the doors to open and Elyse and her father began down the aisle. Tears poured again; it was an incredible moment for everyone in the room. Elyse and James had a wonderful wedding day full of amazing love and special people from all areas of their lives. Everyone pulled together to help make their day possible. From make-up to music, pastors to performers, beer makers and bible readers; this was the best kind of community event that made the day incredibly special. The tears from the beginning of day were matched by giant smiles at the sparkler-filled send-off at the end of the night. Elyse and James are married!

Emily + John | Cedarburg, Wisconsin Wedding Photography

He first saw her at the other end of the pew in church one Sunday, she noticed him noticing her. Week after week they ended up sitting closer and closer to each other until a friendship blossomed and they couldn’t help but fall in love with each other. At least that’s the way Emily tells the story. A storybook love story needs a storybook wedding and a storybook wedding needs a storybook setting; Emily’s hometown, Cedarburg, Wisconsin was the perfect charming setting for their story to take shape. Here’s to happily ever after, Emily and John!

Melissia + Patrick at Columbia Yacht Club | Chicago Wedding Photography

Who’s ready for some romance on the water? Melissia and Patrick met on the water; throughout their relationship they spent their Summer’s hanging out on Patrick’s boat on Lake Michigan, practically building their entire relationship with with the Chicago skyline as their backdrop. The Columbia Yacht Club was the perfect venue to host their family and friends for an incredible wedding ceremony. Adding to the picture perfect day was the festive environment surrounding the yacht club with Lallapalooza bumping in the background as the night finished with a fireworks display off of Navy Pier. Melissia and Patrick were surrounded by their super fun family and friends for a wonderful celebration that fit their relationship perfectly.

Many thanks to Mike Peraino for collaborating with me on this wedding.

Amber + Terrell | The Avalon, Fargo Wedding Photography

When I overheard the groom say, “I wanted to play pretty music during the wedding ceremony, but Amber wanted to play battle music,” I knew this was going to be an incredible day. We were supposed to get torrential rain all day and I was prepared to create amazing images no matter the weather. As it turns out, not a drop of rain fell and we captured some of my favorite images of the wedding season so far. You could feel the joy and love between these two all day as reflected in their images, proving that the only battle in them is the battle for each other. Fight fiercely for each other, Amber and Terrell!

Colleen + Fraser | Ross Priory Wedding Photography, Scotland

If true love endures all things, then Colleen and Fraser will have no trouble going the distance. These high school sweethearts have supported each other through so much; family and friends gathered from around Scotland this Summer to celebrate their love and marriage. As their Aunties will tell you, she’s spirited and he’s grounded and together they provide a perfect balance for each other. They are a wonderful couple that love each other immensely.

Ross Priory, affixed to the banks of Loch Lomand has the romantic feel of Downton Abbey and provided a wonderful backdrop to Colleen and Fraser’s wedding portraits. We had a beautiful day celebrating them with wonderful sunshine and dramatic cloudscapes that make shooting in Scotland such a dream. To add to the perfectly romantic Scottish backdrop, we even came across wild thisle, Scotland’s national flower, growing alongside the loch and I just had to include it in this collection of photos.
